The F-15 Eagle was set up during the ’70s to be able to equip the flight departments of the US Air Force with an advanced and high performance fighter.From its aerodynamic airframe, the F-15E Strike Eagle all-weather two-seat fighter-bomber was developed.Designed for ground attack, bombing and interdiction missions, it entered service with the USAF in the late 1980s.It retains the characteristics of the original F-15 project such as the two tail fins and the robust mid-wing, however adopting the tandem two-seater cabin capable of accommodating the Weapons System Officer for route management, target tracking, and employment of electronic countermeasures.It was employed in numerous operational activities starting with the Desert Shield and Desert Storm campaigns in the early 1990s.
