The book with Eagles Rock was written by aircraft enthusiast and airline pilot Michael Stephan. This book is an extensive look at the 48th Fighter Wing, based at RAF Lakenheath and more specifically the F-15s operated at the base. This book is a high-quality hardcover finish. The author interviewed commanders of all 48th FW units and assembled a huge number of unique photographs for this publication. He even had the incredible opportunity to fly the backseat of an F-15E Strike Eagle of the 492nd Fighter Squadron.

Many of the 48th Fighter Wing commanders introduce themselves and the workings of the units. With the F-15Cs of the 493rd FS having been retired in 2022, the F-35A has taken over their role in the 495th FS and since April 2023 the 493rd FS. The Madhatters, the Panthers and the Grimreapers, each of these units are shown in separate and extensive chapters. Author Michael Stephan, an airline pilot by profession, had the opportunity to fly a training mission in an F-15E of the 492 Fighter Wing.

This book also offers a unique view of the 56th and 57th Rescue Squadrons that were based at RAF Lakenheath before they were deployed to Aviano Air Base. The final chapter offers a look at the future of the 48th, with 2 squadrons flying the Strike Eagle and 2 squadrons operating the F-35A Lightning II.
